What We Offer
-
Our psychology services offer a supportive, client-centred approach to work through life’s challenges. We use evidence-based therapies including CBT, ACT and DBT-informed interventions. Medicare rebates are available with a Mental Health Care Plan.
-
Our service offers comprehensive cognitive assessments that take a detailed look at how your brain is functioning day to day. We assess areas such as memory, concentration, planning and communication, and provide clear feedback and practical recommendations.
-
Our comprehensive learning assessments help you or your child better understand how learning happens. We assess skills like reading, writing, maths, attention and processing, and can identify learning differences such as dyslexia and other specific learning difficulties, with practical guidance for home and school.
-
Our ADHD assessment service offers a thorough and supportive process for you or your child. We explore attention, focus, hyperactivity and everyday functioning, and include a parent interview as part of a comprehensive assessment to better understand strengths, challenges and support needs.
What We Charge
* If you are booking on behalf of your child, a mental health care plan provides them with two sessions that can be used for a parent session and/or care team meeting. These sessions are removed from the total sessions allocated within your child’s mental health care plan.
† Psychological assessments are tailored to each individual and vary depending on the reason for referral, age, assessment tools used, number of sessions required, and reporting time. An estimate will be quoted to you upon enquiry based on your unique circumstances.
‡ If a cognitive assessment is being undertaken as part of an ASD diagnostic assessment, Medicare provides a partial rebate ($84.80) for one session to complete the assessment. A referral must be arranged through your child’s paediatrician.
Payment FAQs
-
Fees are payable on the day of the service and are made through our online client portal. We process your Medicare and private health rebates for you after your appointment.
Please note that reports may not be released until accounts are settled.
-
With the relevant referral from your GP, you may be eligible for Medicare rebates to cover some of the cost of your appointments. There is still a gap payment between our fee and the Medicare rebate. There is a maximum of 10 Medicare rebatable appointments per calendar year. Each referral is for a maximum of 6 sessions, after which you need a new referral.
Medicare rebates only apply to treatment/therapy appointments, they do not apply to sessions used for conducting assessments.
-
Some private health funds may offer rebates for psychology services. Eligibility and rebate amounts vary depending on your provider and level of cover.
Please check with your provider, prior to your appointment, to confirm whether psychology services are included in your plan, and the rebate amount per session.
Only one rebate can be claimed per session—either Medicare or private health—you cannot claim both.
-
We are not currently a NDIA-registered provider. NDIA-managed (agency-managed) plans cannot be used at this clinic.
If you are self- or plan-managed, you may still be able to use your NDIS funding for our psychology services.
Self-managed participants can pay and then claim reimbursement directly through the NDIS portal. Plan-managed participants can request that invoices be forwarded to their plan manager for payment. Please discuss these funding options with us during your inital appointment.
-
RS Psychology does not provide reports or letters for court matters, legal proceedings, or hearings. Our services are focused on therapeutic support and assessment rather than forensic or legal reporting. We are unable to take new clients seeking forensic reports.
Cancellations & Rescheduling
We understand that life happens and you may need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, although we ask that you give us at least two business days’ notice (for Tuesday appointments, notice is required by the preceding Friday). Late cancellations or non-attendance may incur a fee, and your notice helps us offer appointments to others who may need timely support.
Please note that Medicare and private health do not provide rebates for cancellation fees.
RS Psychology is currently a phoneless service with no reception, and all appointments are managed through our secure online client portal. You can book, reschedule or cancel appointments at any time online, or discuss changes with your psychologist during your session.
If you or your child are unable to attend your appointment, we kindly ask that you let us know via e-mail or SMS.
